“Ring the Bells of Heaven” was written to the melody of a secular song. Mr. Cushing heard the song, and the melody played in his head all day long. It was such a joyful melody that he wished he could use it for a good cause in his Sunday School. Later, after hearing of a sinner that was saved, he felt very happy, and the words for that song just flowed out of him.
