
Charles Austin Miles was born on January 7, 1868 in New Jersey, and died in New Jersey on March 10, 1946. He was educated at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, and the University of Pennsylvania.
He was a pharmacist for several years. Then he abandoned pharmacy work to do writing, music, and publishing.
He remained with Hall-Mack for thirty-seven years as editor and manager. He was a well-known music director in churches, camp meeting, and conventions.
In 1935, Hall-Mack merged with the Rodeheaver Company.
